Sri Lanka pile up 255 against Pakistan in first ODI

DAMBULLA: The Sri Lankan cricket team gave Pakistan a target of 256 runs after batting first in the first match of the ODI series here on Saturday.

Pakistani all rounder Muhammad Hafeez took four wickets for 41 runs while the pacer Rahat Ali took two wickets.

Yasir Shah and Anwar Ali ended with one wicket each.

Chandimal withstood a resolute Pakistan attack that continued to break partnerships and kept the scoring rate in check.

Ninth-ranked Pakistan need to win the five-match series to stay in contention for a place in the eight-nation Champions Trophy in England in 2017.
