Trump’s Jerusalem move: JI announce to hold protest tomorrow

LAHORE Denouncing US President Trump’s announcement recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s  capital, Ameer,  Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has called for complete unity of the Muslim world to foil the US plan to strengthen Zionist hold on the holy city. He has also appealed for a countrywide protest against the US decision tomorrow, Friday.

In a statement here on Thursday, Sirajul Haq stressed upon Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to attend the OIC meeting called by Turkish President Erdogan on Dec. 13, and try to play a leading role in the efforts to unite the Muslim world on such a sensitive issue. He said that the Muslim Ummah must be on one page to foil the US designs and the Muslim rulers should unite and work out a joint line of action to meet the challenge.

Sirajul Haq appreciated the condemnation of Trump’s decision by China, France, Britain and several other European and western countries. He said the need of the hour was to call an emergent meeting of the UN Security Council and to raise an effective voice against Trump’ decision that a another world war could be averted. .

The JI chief said that Trump’s declaring Jerusalem as Israel capital was tantamount to adding fuel to fire as had seriously endangered world peace. He said that Trump wanted to plunge the world into a world war to enable the US save its deteriorating image and added that Trump enjoyed the support of the Zionist lobby in the US in this regard.

Sirajul Haq also urged the political and religious leadership in the country to sink their  differences and stand united against the Zionist conspiracies. He exhorted the Ulema and Khatibs to highlight the importance of the Baitul Maqdis in their Friday addresses and raise their vice against the US provocations.

He also impressed upon the masses to participate in the protest tomorrow in maximum numbers to discharge their moral and religious duty. He said that this was not a regional issue. This was an issue of the entire Muslim world.
