ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to review law and order situation emerged after a crackdown on Faizabad protesters.
Sources said that during the meeting police and local administration opposed carrying out another operation against the protesters.
The meeting ended without a final decision on the future course of action.
The meeting was attended by the Islamabad chief commissioner, IG police and others.
Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah participated in the meeting via video-link.
The government had called in the Army for an indefinite period to control law and order situation in the federal capital.
In this connection, a notification was issued by the interior ministry on Saturday night.
The Army would be deployed in the entire capital to control the situation emerged after a crackdown on protesters.
