LAHORE: The International Cricket Council (ICC) World XI have won the toss and elected to field first against Pakistan in the first of three-match Independence series being playing in Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium.
History will remember September 12, 2017, as the day when some of the biggest names in the cricketing world visited Lahore to help the return of international cricket to Pakistan.
The seeds of a World XI visit were sown when Zimbabwe toured the country in 2015, the idea was then nurtured courtesy Pakistan Super League second edition’s final in Lahore, and now it is time that we enjoy the fruit of all those endeavours.
