Prices of fruits, vegetables remain stable

ISLAMABAD: The prices of fruits and vegetables overall remained stable after minor fluctuation in price of some items in the federal capital here on Wednesday.

According to the Islamabad Market Committee Price List issued here, the prices of various fruits and vegetables showed no major difference from the price list of the previous week.

According to price list, potato was sold at Rs 40/34 per kilogram, Onion Rs 28/23, Tomato Rs 32/26, Ginger Rs 160/125, Garlic (Quetta) Rs 130/110, Garlic Local 130/110, Lemon Rs 105/80, Lady Finger Rs 60/48, Pumpkin Rs 82/68, Brinjal Rs 45/40, Peas Rs 155/125, Fresh Bean Rs 90/70, Tinda Walaiti (Imported gourd small) Rs 100/80, Cucumber Rs 50/40, Capsicum Rs 70/45, Green Chilli Rs 35/28, Cauliflower Rs 70/45, Cabbage Rs 24/19, Bitter gourd Rs 46/40, Green Zucchini Rs 70/55, Spinach Rs 22/17, Yam Rs 45/35 and Maroo Rs 60/45, Carrot Rs 45/40, Chicken Rs 160 and Egg per dozen Rs 93.

Likewise, the rates of fruits per kilogram of high and medium quality in Islamabad are as follows: Apple (kala kalo) Rs 145/105, Apple White Rs 125/85, Apple China Rs 235/180, Banana Pak Rs 65/40, Banana India Rs 135/90, Pear China Rs 160/130, Melon Rs 40/30, Water Melon Rs 15/12, Mango (Sindhi) Rs 70/45, Peach Special Rs 120/80, Mango (local) Rs 40/28, Mango (Anwar Ratool) Rs 95/55, Mango (Langra) Rs 70/50, Apricoat Rs 100/60, Cherry Rs 170/130, Plum Rs 70/45 and Plum (Special) Rs 105/70.
