ANKARA: Warrants for the detention of four executives from daily Sözcü, including license holder Burak Akbay, were issued early May 19 for quartet’s alleged links to the Gulenist Movement.

Mediha Olgun, the managing director of Sözcü’s news portal, Financial Affairs Manager Yonca Kaleli and correspondent Gökmen Ulu are among the other suspects being sought. The suspects are accused of “being a member of FETÖ (Fethullahist Terrorist Organization)/ PDY (Parallel State Structure)” and “committing a crime with the FETÖ/PDY organizations.”

Lawyers for Sözcü did not confirm the claims, saying no warrant has been transmitted to them.

Police have already begun a search of Ulu’s house, according to lawyers.
