PESHAWAR: The Chief Justice Peshawar High Court (PHC), Justice Yahya Afridi has said that he is going to post competent and good judges to hard areas so that people of these areas get justice judiciously and without delay.
He said this during his visit to district Torghar, Tehsil Courts Balakot, both far flung courts of the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa to meet judges and lawyers said a press release issued on Sunday.
During discussion with Bench and Bar members the Chief Justice said that it is his desire that these far flung areas should not remain underdeveloped in so far as administration of justice to the already down trodden people of these areas is concerned.
As reward for services in these areas, initially district judges of hard districts are being sent abroad and next year senior civil judges of these hard stations (i.e. Kohistan, Tank, Battagram, Shangla, Buner, Dir Upper and Chitral) would be sent on scholarship to get exposure said Chief Justice.
While explaining posting and transfer policy, the CJ said that he belief in transparency and all the judicial officers would get place of posting as per policy devised by the administration committee of the Peshawar High Court and no one would be given place of posting on the basis of kith and kin.
He was of the firm view that corruption would be eradicated in the judiciary by making the judiciary an attractive service as he is striving to make it sure that each judicial officer should have a house on his retirement.
Similarly, he is in touch with other bodies for the purpose of getting health insurance for the judges and their families. Both these steps, he argued would help eradicate corruption from the judiciary on the one hand and on the other it would attract the cream (young lawyers) of the province to opt for this field.
He warned that corruption would not be tolerated at all and those with bad repute would be given a chance to mend their ways.
During his stay at District Courts Torgar at Oghi, on demand of Bar and people of Torghar that Camp Court at Torghar to be established and the District and Sessions Judge, Torghar to consult for court premises and accommodation with district administration.
Further it was resolved in public interest that any person/litigant from Torghar could file his case at Torghar and if he desired so could claim its trial in Torghar too, while District Judiciary would have hear and disposed off that case in Torghar after this and not at Oghi till Permanent arrangements. The demand of Oghi Bar of NADRA cases to be filed at Oghi was also resolved with District & Sessions Judge, Mansehra to transfer all such cases at the earliest.
Moreover, the CJ also ensured the establishment of Bar Room for Tehsil Bar Oghi and further for future libraries for Tehsil Bar Oghi and Torghar.
Later, the CJ also visited site of judicial complex at Balakot and Oghi and assured all necessary arrangements would be made for early initiation of the projects. APP
