TEHRAN: Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan on Thursday confirmed ‘successful’ ballistic missile test. He reiterated that the recent missile tests did neither violate the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or the UNSC Resolution 2231, Tasnim news agency reported.

It came after a US official claimed on Monday that a new ballistic missile that Iran test-fired recently has exploded after travelling 630 miles (1,013 kilometers).

The defence minister clarified that the country will not allow any genre of interference into its defence affairs. The official confirmation was made after a U.S. claim regarding Iranian missile test-fire exploded after travelling 630 miles (1,013 kilometers).

Earlier, Iran maintained stance that none of its missiles were designed to be capable of carrying nuclear warheads, because nuclear weapons have basically no place in the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine.
