DUBAI: After pacer Muhammad Amir allowed to play domestic cricket, it is likely that Salma Butt will be allowed to do the same as the Anti Corruption Unit (ACU) of International Cricket Council has summoned Salman Butt in Dubai.

The ICC has summoned Salman Butt on the request of Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Shahryar Khan who has asked ICC to review the 10-year ban on the former test captain.

Salman Butt had requested to the Chairman that he should be allowed to play domestic cricket like Muhammad Amir.

Sources said that Salman Butt might be allowed to make a return in domestic cricket after his cooperation with ICC.

In an interview last year the PCB chairman Shaharyar said “Amir’s case is different from those of Butt and Asif. These two have still not really accepted their guilt. We want them to do more first to convince us they are repentant,”

“First they convince us they want to reform themselves and then we will decide when to approach the ICC.”

Under the revised code, a banned player can apply to ICC’s ACSU to allow him to resume playing domestic cricket before the end of his ban.
