5.6 magnitude quake strikes India, felt in Bangladesh, Nepal

NEW DELHI: 5.6 magnitude earthquake has struck India at about 6:40 a.m. on Sunday. The epicentre of the earthquake is reported to be in 23km north of Basugaon in Assam.

Low intensity quake jolts were also felt in Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal. No casualties or damages were reported yet. Officials said that the quake was short but strong.

The quake was of moderate intensity, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.
