FAISALABAD: Police set more than 8000 kites and their strings on fire publicly.
A spokesman of police told here on Sunday that these kites and material was confiscated by police teams from different parts of Gulberg circle during various raids.
Police had launched a vigorous campaign against kite-flying and this drive would continue across the district without any discrimination, he added.
