PESHAWAR: The police and security forces here during a search operation on Friday arrested 60 suspects and recovered illegal weapons and ammunition from their possession.
According to police, the operation in which services of lady police and sniffer dogs were also acquired was conducted in Pahari Pura, Shaheed Town and Gharib Abad areas.
During the operation 60 suspects including 8 Afghans were taken into custody. Three pistols and hundreds of cartridges were recovered from the suspects. Police said around 700 houses were searched during the operation.
The arrested suspects were shifted to University Town and Pahari Pura police stations for further investigation.
