PESHAWAR: At least 60 suspected supporters of the self-styled militant Islamic State (IS) group were arrested during anti terror raids in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas on Friday.
Security forces launched information based surgical raids across the province and FATA after receiving information from IS terrorists arrested from Punjab and Islamabad, said security officials.
Ten suspected supporters were arrested from Peshawar, five from Karak, four from Lakki Marwat, four from DI Khan and three from Kohat.
Similarly anti-terror raids were carried out in Orakzai Agency, Khyber Agency, Kurram Agency of FATA and as many as 26 suspects were arrested. The arrested were made upon the information received from the arrested IS terrorists.
The arrested suspects were shifted to Islamabad for further investigation by security agencies.
