5th-ODI: South Africa inflict humiliating 214-runs defeat on India

MUMBAI: South Africa on Sunday won the One-day International (ODI) series and inflict humiliating 214 runs defeat on India in the fifth ODI at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first. F du Plessis scored unbeaten 133 runs and retired hurt due to muscle injury. AB de Villiers scored 119 runs and Kock scored 109 runs. South Africa set India 439 runs target but India could score only 224 runs in the match.

Indian bowlers Kumar, Sharma, Harbhajan Singh and Raina took one wicket each. Indian batsman Rahane scored 87 runs, Dhawan 60 and Kohli scored only 07 runs in the match.

While South African bowlers Rabada took 4 wickets, Steyn 3wickets and Imran Tahir grabbed two wickets in the 5th ODI. South Africa won the 5-match series by 3-2 against India.
