KP to not allow change in route of Pak-China Economic Corridor: Srajul Haq

PESHAWAR: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Senator Srajul Haq has said that any change in the Pak- China- Economic corridor would amount to gross injustice to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Talking to the media after addressing the office bearers of the All Pakistan Commercial Exporters association, Khyber chapter, at Peshawar on Wednesday, he said he would attend the Prime Minister’s meeting to discuss the corridor issue. However, he said, there was unrest in the business community as also the general public in Peshawar on the reports of changes in the route of the project. He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would not allow any change.

The JI chief urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to decide the issue as chief executive of all the four provinces, and added that the grand 46 billion dollar corridor project should not be made controversial.

Sirajul Haq stressed upon the NADRA to solve within one month, the issue of thousand of national identity cards which were blocked failing which the people would be compelled to stage protest. He said the people expected NADRA to solve their problems but they had been badly disappointed.

Sirajul Haq who earlier listened to the problems of the gem stone exporters, said that Pakistan could earn huge amount of foreign exchange through export of precious stones.

The JI chief commended the performance of the provincial Local bodies department during the last two years and said Peshawar city looked much beautiful now.

Sirajul Haq deplored that Pakistan had played host to the Afghan refugees for the last thirty five years but they were now being harassed and maltreated now. He said this would adversely affect the country’s relations with the neighboring country.
