PESHAWAR: As many as 47 suspects including Afghan nationals were apprehended during police search operations in Lahore and Peshawar on Saturday.
According to police sources, on tip off received from intelligence agencies Peshawar police started door to door search operation in Hayatabad area of Peshawar where at least 29 suspects including four Afghan citizens were arrested over non availability of legal documents.
Police said that drugs were also recovered from arrested suspects and investigation from them was underway.
Meanwhile, at least 18 suspects were also detained on non availability of legal documents during police search operations in different areas of Lahore.
Police sources said that the operations were conducted in Khyber Block of Allama Iqbal Town and adjoining areas during which legal documents were checked from people. Police said that the documents and national identity cards of people are being checked through biometric system.
