PESHAWAR: Stormy rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have wrecked havoc in the province as 45 persons including women and children died while more than 200 people were also injured.
Wall and roof collapse due to stormy breeze caused deaths and injuries.
The destruction were reported in the provincial capital Peshawar, districts of Charsadda and Noshehra. The stormy breezes of speed 110 km/hr and thunderstorm caused wide level destruction. A scores of houses , crops were destroyed.
After the deadly rain trees, electricity poles, sign boards removed and fell on various places causing hindrance for traffic flow.
The storms and rains have disrupted communication system in whole of the province. Electricity which was disconnected after the rains still could not be restored.
The rains still continue with regular interval of time causing hindrance in rescue services.
Rescue teams have been sent to start rescue services in the rains hit areas, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR added that emergency have been declared in all the CMH’s in the province , the ISPR added.
