Karachi: The power supply company K-Electric on Monday said that 45 feeders in the city’s low-lying areas have yet to be restored after the yesterday’s rains.
A spokesman for K Electric said that University Road and Gulistan-e-Jauhar were affected due to accumulation of rain water.
The spokesman said that power supply to most areas of Bin Qasim has also been cut off while power could not be restored in some blocks of PECHS Society due to lack of drainage.
Electricity supply in submerged ares of Orangi Town and Korangi has been cut off till now while power supply in Surjani areas has also been suspended due to accumulation of rain water.
The K-Electric spokesman said that only one feeder in the low-lying area of Defense was affected while a block of Gulshan-e-Iqbal was also cut off due to accumulation of water.
It may be recalled that after heavy rains in different parts of Karachi yesterday, the heat subsided but due to accumulation of water on the roads, the citizens faced severe difficulties.
