LAHORE: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Friday said the government had added 300mw electricity into the system during two and a half year of period. 2017 was the year to end darkness as work on several energy projects was underway.
‘At the time the government came into power, the whole country was sunk into darkness and the energy crises had got worsened. The present government is striving to tackle energy crisis on emergency basis,’ he said.
He said the production of electricity was 13500MW in 2013 which has increased up to 16800MW in 2015.
Ali said the energy crisis would completely be eradicated from the country in 2017 and making it the year of lights.
