PESHAWAR: An official of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) was killed and three others including a political tehsildar wounded in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Ambar tehsil of Mohmand Agency on Tuesday.
According to political administration officials, Tehsildar Faramosh Khan along with ANF constable and two others was busy in anti-poppy drive in Ambar tehsil area when an IED device planted on roadside exploded.
As result of the explosion, the ANF constable was killed and tehsildar Faramosh and his two campaigners sustained injured.
The injured were shifted to Ghalanai District Headquarters hospital for treatment. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
Mohmand is one of Pakistan’s seven tribal agencies near the Afghan border where the military has been battling militants for over a decade.
