22-year-old girl gang raped, killed in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: A 22-year-old girl was thrown off a three-storey building after gang-rape in Rawat near Rawalpindi on Saturday.

According to police, the body of the victim was recovered outside a house in Rawalpindi’s Rawat area who was pushed down from a building after alleged molestation by three suspects. Police sources further told that one of the suspects also sustained wounds on resistance of girl.

Station House Officer (SHO) claimed to have arrested the injured criminal and launched an investigation into the matter however, the case will be registered after the post mortem of the corpse.

There has been several cases of molestation seen in Pakistan but the law enforcement agencies have failed to ensure protection to the women. The scratches on the victim girl’s body clearly show that she was brutally assaulted by the suspects before her murder.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shahbaz Sharif while taking notice of the atrocious incident expressed grief and sought a final report from Regional Police Officer (RPO) as early as possible.
