212 people killed in recent rains, floods: NDMA

ISLAMABAD: At least 212 people were killed and one hundred and eighty eight others injured in recent rains and floods in different parts of the country and Azad Kashmir.

Preliminary damage and loss assessment report released by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) says 104 people were died in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA 38,  Balochistan 19, Punjab 14, AJK 21, and 16 in Gilgit Baltistan.

The report further says that 1428 houses were either partially or totally damaged. The data pertains to the 9th of the last month till date. Army engineers are carrying out efforts with heavy machinery and excavators  for opening up of communication infrastructure.
