PALANDRI, AJK: At least 20 people died and about two dozen others injured when a bus carrying participants of wedding ceremony fell into a gorge here on Sunday.
Police said that a bus carrying about five dozen attendants of a wedding party from Palandri to Hajira area of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) skidded off road due to over speeding while negotiating a sharp turn near Janjaal Hill More and plunged into a deep ravine.
As a result of accident 20 people died while about 25 others were reported injured.
The dwellers of the area and rescue teams soon after getting the information of the mishap reached the scene and started rescue operation.
The bodies and injured were pulled out from the gorge and shifted to different hospitals where according to hospital sources condition of several wounded people was critical and it was feared that deal toll could mount further.
