Yousuf Raza Gilani acquitted in TDAP corruption cases after 16 years

KARACHI: A federal anti-corruption court acquitted Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani in three cases of TDAP corruption case.

Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani appeared before the Federal Anti-Corruption Court (ATC) in Karachi.

During the hearing, the judge, while talking to Yousaf Raza Gillani, said that three cases have been decided against you, to which Yousaf Raza Gillani said that yes.

The court asked which jail would you like to go to, Karachi, Multan or Islamabad, to which Yousaf Raza Gillani said that I have no fear of jail, jail is not a new thing for us, if you want, hang me.

“Why don’t you like home jail?” the court asked. Yousaf Raza Gillani said, “My ancestral home is Multan, my family is Lahore and Senate office is Islamabad.”

The judge said, “You tell me, the court is in Karachi, Yousaf Raza Gillani said then it will be said that his party has a government in Sindh.”

The court said, “Gilani Sahib, no charges have been proved against you, you are honorably acquitted.
