Lahore to set up 10 model markets for Ramazan

Lahore is set to open 10 model bazaars across the city, as part of preparations for the holy month of Ramazan.

The markets, aimed at providing discounted and quality goods to citizens during Ramadan, will be set up under the supervision of the district administration.

A meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore, Syed Musa Raza, was held to finalise arrangements for the upcoming Ramadan bazaars.

According to the briefing, each of the 10 model bazaars will feature 10 shops – seven dedicated to selling fruits, vegetables, pulses, spices, and other goods, while three will be focused on meat products.

In an effort to make shopping more accessible, separate counters for women, senior citizens, and regular customers will be available.

This initiative is expected to enhance convenience and comfort, ensuring that everyone can shop efficiently.

The markets will offer goods at wholesale rates, with quality items available to citizens. The DC Lahore assured that items will be sold at prices set by the Market Committee, and vendors will receive products at wholesale prices to keep costs down for consumers.

DC Lahore has instructed that all preparations for the Ramadan bazaars be completed by February 24, with the markets set to open before the start of Ramadan to cater to shoppers’ needs.

Adequate parking and cleanliness arrangements will also be made to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
