10 years ago, the Taliban attacked Afghanistan’s only luxury hotel, Serena, in Kabul, killing 9 people, including an American citizen.
Serena Hotel recently announced that they are closing the hotel in Kabul from February 1, the hotel is now in the hands of the government.
There was no immediate response from the government, nor did Serena Hotel and the government explain the terms under which the management of the hotel is changing.
It should be noted that the Taliban first targeted the Serena Hotel in 2008 and again in 2014. The Kabul Hotel is no longer listed on the Serena Hotel website.
