Meta has made an announcement to invest over $60 billion in artificial intelligence (AI) by 2025.
In a post on his Facebook page, the Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, said that 2025 will be an important milestone for AI, with Meta at the forefront.
He said the tech firm will build a new and larger data center for its AI projects that will further develop Meta’s core products and business in the coming years.
Zuckerberg further said the investment will open the door to historic innovation and further solidify America’s leadership in technology.
The announcement came a few days after US President Donald Trump announced a $500 billion investment in AI infrastructure.
After the announcement, his ally Elon Musk said that the required funds are not actually available for this investment.
On the other hand, Microsoft President Brad Smith has also indicated an investment of around $80 billion this fiscal year on building AI data centers, training AI models, and developing cloud-based applications.
Brad Smith said in an online post that America is fully prepared to be at the forefront of this new technology wave.
