Now, you can now upload 3-minute long Reels videos on Instagram .
Until now, it was possible to post 90-second-long videos in Instagram Reels, but now that duration is being doubled.
Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri made the announcement.
He said that users used to complain that 90 seconds was too short.
Interestingly, in July 2024, Adam Mosseri said that Instagram would not focus on the feature of long videos as doing so would undermine the platform’s principle of connecting people with friends.
The feature of longer videos has been introduced by Instagram after the ban on TikTok has been implemented in the US.
TikTok users had the option to post 3-minute long videos from 2021.
Instagram is slowly increasing the duration of Reels.
2 years ago, the Meta-owned photo-sharing app announced that the duration of the reels would be 90 seconds.
At one point, the company also started testing a feature to post 10-minute-long reels, but it was later shelved.
