PTI rejects plea to hold public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan tomorrow

The third round of negotiations between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s negotiating committees has begun.

The third round of negotiations between the government and PTI’s negotiation committees is ongoing in Parliament House under the facilitation of Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

Irfan Siddiqui, Rana Sanaullah, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar are included in the government committee while Omar Ayub, Asad Qaiser, Ali Amin Gandapur, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Sahibzada Hamid Raza are part of the PTI committee.

PTI leader Omar Ayub presented the written demands to Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. The draft of PTI’s demands is signed by 6 members of the committee, including Omar Ayub, Ali Amin Gandapur, Salman Akram Raja, Sahibzada Hamid Raza.

PTI’s written demands:

The federal government should form two commissions of inquiry consisting of the chief justice or 3 judges of the Supreme Court.

The commission should be established under the Federal Government Commission of Inquiry Act 2017. .

In the written demand, it has been said that the commission should inquire into the arrest of the PTI founder on May 9, the entry of Rangers and police in the Islamabad High Court, the incidents of May 9 after the arrest of the PTI founder wit the help of CCTV footage.

In the demands, it has been said that censorship was imposed on the media related to May 9 and journalists were harassed and the commission should investigate the internet shutdown across the country and identify those responsible.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said the second commission should investigate the events of November 24 to 27, 2024 and identify those who ordered the firing and use of force on the protesters in Islamabad. The commission should investigate the number of martyrs and injured, hospitals and medical facilities and check the CCTV recording.

PTI also demands that the commission should identify those responsible for the excessive use of force against the protesters and should investigate the difficulties faced in registering FIRs.

In the written demand, it is also said that the federal and Punjab governments, including the governments of Sindh and Balochistan, should issue orders for bail or suspension of sentences of all political prisoners.
