Mars is all set to align with the Sun and Earth on January 16 (Thursday), making it easier for people to observe this phenomenon.
Astronomers said this event, which takes place every 26 months, is called a ‘Reception’ in which the Sun completely illuminates Mars.
The Malaysian Space Agency (Mysa) announced the recent incident in a social media post.
The official agency’s post also said that the event is called ‘Reception’, in which the position of the planets opposite the Sun refers to the direction of the Earth. In this event, Mars can be clearly seen from the Earth.
The post also confirmed that the planet will be visible from Earth from January to July.
It should be noted that the last time such an incident happened on December 8, 2022.
