LA wildfires: Iran offers help to US

Iran has offered help to the United States to control the terrible fire in the city of Los Angeles.

According to foreign media, in a letter written to the head of the American Red Cross, Cliff Holt, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), Pir Hossein Kolivand, has offered to send aid.

The Iranian Red Crescent chief said that due to its extensive experience in dealing with natural disasters, his organisation is ready to immediately send special rapid action teams and rescue equipment to the affected areas.

The news agency said that Peer Hossein Kolivand assured Cliff Holt that he is not alone in this difficult time.

It should be noted that the worst fire in the history of Los Angeles since Tuesday is spreading further as 16 people have been killed and hundreds injured, while many people are still missing.

As a result of the terrible wildfires, more than 12, 000 houses and buildings have been burnt to ashes, while more than 200,000 people have been forced to relocate.

According to the US media, more than 12, 000 firefighters, 1,150 fire engines, 60 planes and 143 water tankers are engaged in efforts to extinguish the fire. But the intensity of the fire is increasing.
