The verdict in the £190 million reference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi will be pronounced today.
Judge Accountability Court Nasir Javed Rana will announce the verdict at 11 am in Adiala Jail and the court staff informed the parties in this regard.
Lawyer Imran Khan Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry also confirmed that the court staff informed about the verdict being delivered. Apart from this, the NAB prosecution team was also informed on behalf of the court staff.
It should be noted that the accountability court had reserved its decision on the 190 million pound reference on December 18, 2024. The accountability court had first fixed December 23rd and then January 6th as the date for pronouncing the verdict, then gave the third date of January 13th.
It should be remembered that the trial of the 190 million pound reference was completed in one year and NAB recorded the statements of 35 witnesses during the trial.
The lawyers of PTI founder cross-examined the witnesses.
Important witnesses in the 190 million pound reference, former principal secretary Azam Khan, former chief minister Pervez Khattak, former federal minister Zubaida Jalal also recorded their statements. Charges were framed on February 27 last year in the £190 million reference.
