The fire has killed 11 people and injured dozens, while the death toll is expected to rise.
12,000 fire fighters, 11,00 fire engines, 60 planes and 143 water tankers are engaged in extinguishing the fire. Initial damage estimates have reached $150 billion.
The fire has destroyed more than 37,000 hectares and strong winds could cause it to spread further.
Popular areas of Hollywood, including Pacific Palisades, are also under fire, where many celebrities have left their homes and moved to other areas.
