Whether it is simple mobile phone, android or iPhone, uninterrupted signal supply is required for this to work. When there is no signal, especially in closed places, mobile phones do not work and people face difficulties in managing their other affairs including contacts.
However, now there is good news that mobile phones will work even without a signal.
According to foreign media, through a satellite service called ‘Direct to Cell’ by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, it is now possible to make calls from any corner of the earth from users’ iPhones and Android smartphones.
According to the report, this facility will not require any kind of change in the smartphones, but only LTE support in the device will be enough.
For this service, satellites are equipped with modems that help them act like cell towers, beaming phone signals directly from space to smartphones.
Initially, the service will have messaging facility and later voice and data services will also be made a part of it.
Ukraine will be one of the first countries where this service will be introduced. For this purpose, Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar has entered into an agreement with Starlink.
