PTI links talks success to justice for all

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has urged for providing justice to all party members, however, the government ruled out using executive powers to release jailed party founder.

PTI Secretary-General Salman Akram Raja speaking to media said that the talks will only be successful when there is justice for all.

Raja reiterated the the party’s demands to release political prisoners, including PTI founder. He urged for constituting a judicial commission to probe the May 9 events and Nov 26 crackdown on PTI protesters. He added that if these demands are not met…we will then devise a future course of action.

To a question, the PTI leader noted that January 31 was the cut-off date for talks and after that  the party would chalk out the future course of action.

His statement came hours after the PTI and the government finally held their second round of dialogue. National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said the talks were held in a cordial environment.

He told media that in the last meeting we decided that PTI would present its charter of demands. But the opposition demanded another meeting with Imran Khan to prepare a list of demands. The next meeting will be held next week, hopefully, he added.

Sadiq further said that the conclusion of the negotiations was that all of the participants agreed to sit together for the betterment of Pakistan and talk about issues such as economy, terrorism and any other.
