London Mayor Sir Sadiq says his father was a bus driver

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has been handed the knighthood in the new years honours by King Charles of Great Britain.

According to media reports, Sadiq Khan was awarded the highly prestigious honour of knighthood in recognition of his services to the people of London.

It has been stated in the media report that Khan was elected the Mayor of London for the third time in a row this year. After receiving the honour of knighthood, “Sir” will be written as prefix with the name of Sadiq Khan.

Sir Sadiq Khan, as he will now be known, has expressed his happiness and said that he is proud to be knighted, while spending his childhood in South London, he never thought that one day he would become the mayor of the city.

On the other hand, Foreign Secretary David Lemmy congratulated Sadiq Khan on being knighted and said that Sadiq has taken steps to provide free school dinners, clean air and build council record houses.

He said that he is proud that Britain is a place where the son of a bus driver can become a member of the cabinet and the mayor of a city.
