May 9 riots: Imran's nephew Hassan Niazi among 60 others sentenced by military court

PTI founder Imran Khan’s nephew Hassan Khan Niazi among 60 criminals involved in the May 9 tragedy have been sentenced.

According to the Pakistan military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations, in the light of the Supreme Court’s decision, 60 more criminals involved in the May 9 tragedy were sentenced by the Field General Court Martial.

According to the statement, the Field General Court Martial passed the sentences after examining all the evidences, ensuring the legal rights of the criminals and proceeding in accordance with the legal requirements.

ISPR added that among the 60 convicted criminals, Hassan Khan Niazi, son of Hafeezullah Niazi, involved in the Jinnah House attack, was also sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.

It said that Mian Ibad Farooq, son of Amanat Ali, involved in the Jinnah House attack was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment, Rais Ahmed, son of Shafiullah, 6 years, Arzam Junaid, son of Junaid Razzak, and Ali Raza, son of Ghulam Mustafa, were sentenced to 6 years each imprisonment.

According to the Pakistan Army, Ehsanullah Khan, son of Najibullah Khan, involved in PAF base Mianwali attack was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment.

According to the statement, Muneeb Ahmed, son of Naveed Ahmed Butt, involved in Rahwali Gate Gujranwala attack got 2 years, Muhammad Ali, son of Muhammad Bota, involved in Faisalabad ISI office attack got 2 years, Samiullah, son of Mir Dad Khan, involved in Bannu Cantt attack got 2 years.

Mian Muhammad Akram Usman, son of Mian Muhammad Usman, involved in Jinnah House attack was sentenced to 2 years rigorous imprisonment.
