Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is on the verge of overtaking pacer Wasim Akram as Pakistan are set to face South Africa in Paarl.
The Men in Green will play three-ODIs starting from today (Tuesday). The match will start at 5 pm Pakistan time.
During the game, Shaheen Afridi will have a golden opportunity to overtake Wasim Akram’s record against South Africa.
Wasim Akram is Pakistan’s third most successful bowler against South Africa in international cricket, taking 48 wickets in 31 innings.
Currently, Shaheen Afridi is fifth in the list, after bagging 45 wickets in 25 innings against the Proteas.
He just need four wickets to break Akram’s record.
Waqar Younis tops the list with 82 scalps in 43 innings, followed by spinner Saeed Ajmal, who is second in the list with 65 wickets in 36 innings.
