ICC chief Jay Shah leaves for Australia amid Champions Trophy row

Amid ongoing ICC Champions Trophy row, International Cricket Council Chief Jay Shah has left for Australia, raising eyebrows around the word.

According to Indian media, Jay Shah has reached Brisbane, where he is accompanied by Devjit Saikia, interim secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Jay Shah will reportedly attend a meeting related to the Olympics and also witness the third Test between India and Australia.

Many questions have been raised about Jay Shah’s seriousness regarding the Champions Trophy issue.

Moreover, the Indian media claimed that the BCCI has agreed to play the Champions Trophy under the fusion formula, but the BCCI is not in favor of applying this formula to its other events.

According to reports, the BCCI has agreed that Pakistan’s group matches in ICC events to be held in India should be played at a neutral venue.

However, it said, if Pakistan qualify for the final or semifinal of any event, they have to play those games in India.
