Imran Khan directs PTI leadership to continue civil disobedience movement

PTI founder Imran Khan and other accused have been indicted in the GHQ attack case today.

The development came during an hearing conducted by ATC Judge Amjad Ali in Rawalpindi.

On the occasion of hearing, the PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were produced in the courtroom. Omar Ayub, Sheikh Rasheed, Fawad Chaudhry, Zartaj Gul and Raja Basharat among other accused also appeared in the court.

All the accused pleaded not guilty.

23 accused, including Zulfiqar Bukhari, Murad Saeed and Shahbaz Gill, listed as fugitives. The court has ordered to impose travel restrictions on all the accused.

The other co-accused include Sheikh Rasheed, Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, Omar Ayub, Raja Basharat, Zartaj Gul.

70 PTI leaders are accused of planning May 9. They are accused of inciting workers to arson and attacks on military and government installations.

The court fixed December 10 as the date for recording the evidence of the prosecution.

Meanwhile, after the hearing, the police arrested opposition leader Omar Ayub, Malik Ahmed Chatta and former provincial minister Raja Basharat outside Adiala Jail. The reason for the arrest of these leaders has not been revealed.

Omar Ayub was arrested and transferred to the jail’s checkpost.
