WhatsApp has announced that it will no longer support certain older iOS versions, starting in May 2025.
WhatsApp will stop supporting iOS versions earlier than iOS 15.1, claimed WABetaInfo report.
Users with devices running iOS versions older than 15.1 will no longer be able to access the social messaging app.
Currently, the app supports iOS 12 and later, but with the upcoming update, at least iOS 15.1 will be required for basic functionality.
It means, those, who have iPhone models like the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus, which only support iOS 12.5.7, would not be able access the WhatsApp.
Users will have five months to upgrade their devices, as the new update will be rolled out in May 2025.
Users with newer iPhones running on versions below iOS 15.1 will still be able to update their iOS to the latest version and continue using the app without issue.
