Chinese businessman accepts Islam in Afghanistan

A Chinese businessman, Wang Feiqi, has converted to Islam after reciting the shahada in the presence of Afghan officials from in Balkh province.

He changed the name to Abdullah Muhammad, Afghan media reported.

Formally known as Feiqi, worked closely with the Afghan government on various construction projects.

During his interactions with Afghan officials, he developed an interest in Islam, which eventually led him to study the religion further and embrace it.

He was warmly welcomed into Islam by the Afghan officials.

This is not the first instance of foreigners converting to Islam in Afghanistan.

An American tourist named Andreas embraced Islam after meeting Afghan government officials at a checkpoint in Jilrez, Maidan Wardak province back in August this year.
