Former Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Sirajul Haq has claimed that backdoor negotiations are going on between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Speaking to a local TV, Siraj said that many people have worked to convey messages between the two sides, but no significant result has been achieved.
He said that there is a fire in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan and it is slowly spreading and the remaining so-called democracy seems like in last stages. He feared that democracy will suffer as a result of any conflict.
Siraj further said that the government should take the initiative for negotiations and prepare a plan of action by sitting with all the parties for the establishment of peace. Politics is the name of argument and tolerance. Opposition and government are the wheels of democracy, they have to tolerate each other for a strong democracy, he continued.
The former JI chief said that till now the government has not implemented all the announcements made regarding peace. He suggested to call all the political parties and resolve the issues in the current situation.
