The Karachi Traffic Police have unveiled traffic restrictions and diversions in the metropolis as the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024 begins at the Expo Centre today.
The steps are being taken to ensure smooth traffic flow and strict security during the mega event, which will continue till November 22.
National Stadium Flyover: The flyover will be closed for all kind of traffic.
Stadium Road: The road leading from Agha Khan University Hospital to Hassan Square (left side) and from Stadium Signal to Hassan Square will remain closed for traffic.
Shahrah-e-Faisal to Karsaz Road: Entry of commercial and heavy vehicles will be strictly prohibited.
Drigh Road: Commercial and heavy vehicles are advised to use Shahrah-e-Faisal via Drigh Road for access.
Millennium Mall to Stadium Road: Commercial and heavy vehicles will temporarily be restricted from entering the Stadium Road from Millennium Mall.
NIPA to Hassan Square: Commercial and heavy vehicles will not be allowed on this road.
Jail Chowrangi to Hassan Square: Commercial and heavy vehicles will not be allowed on this route.
Alternate routes for heavy traffic: Heavy and commercial vehicles are advised to use Shaheed-e-Millat Road or Teen Hatti Road.
Traffic diversions: All vehicles will be diverted towards Shaheed-e-Millat Road and PPP Chowrangi.
Liaquatabad No 10 to Hassan Square: Light traffic will not be allowed, except commercial and heavy vehicles heading towards Teen Hatti.
Parking advisory: Vehicles and motorcycles should not be parked on service or main roads. Public is advised to avoid parking on main or service roads around the event area.
