PM Shehbaz suffers chest infection and fever deferring today's apex committee meeting

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz has fallen ill that caused deferment of an important meeting the apex committee of the National Action Plan scheduled to be held today.

Doctors had advised the prime minister to take complete rest two days ago after complaining of fever and chest infection.

Shehbaz has not presided over any parley or held a meeting for the past two days, while no meeting was scheduled today.

Doctors will conduct his another checkup today evening after which his further meetings will be scheduled.

It may be mentioned that the prime minister was to review the law and order situation in the apex committee meeting of the National Action Plan today.

Important decisions were to be taken regarding the growing incidents of terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the meeting, which was to be attended by high-ranking officials of the military and civil leadership, chief ministers of all provinces  and intelligence chiefs.

Earlier in an interview, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had confirmed his intention to attend the meeting.

Gandapur said that he has consistently been raising issues in previous meetings and intends to do so again.

The KP chief minister also stressed that no permission is required for the scheduled march on Islamabad.
