Hezbollah confirms media chief Mohammad Afif martyred in Israeli strike on Beirut

An Israeli airstrike on the office of Syria’s Baath party in Beirut has martyred the Hezbollah’s Media Relations Officer Mohammad Afif.

On Sunday night, the Lebanese resistance movement officially confirmed the assassination of its media relations chief in an Israeli airstrike on central Beirut.

The group lauded Afif’s courage in confronting the Israeli media machine and successfully conveying the voice of the resistance and its positions.

Hezbollah said Mohammad Afif clearly highlighted the features of the ongoing war by his live appearances in Beirut’s southern suburbs that have been the focal point of Israeli bombardment of the Lebanese capital.

It further said that the martyred media chief’s brave positions instilled fear in the hearts of the enemy.

Earlier, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that the Israeli raid struck the Ba’ath party’s office in the Beirut district of Ras Al-Naba’a on Sunday. It added ng that the strike was an attempt to assassinate the leader of the resistance media front.

Baath Secretary-General Ali Hijazi said that Afif was holding a meeting in the Baath Party headquarters at the time when Israel carried out the attack.

He said that Afif did not fight with weapons and did not lead a military unit in Hezbollah, but led a media unit.

Several international media outlets, including Reuters, Sky News, Al Jazeera and several Henrew-language media reported that Afif was killed in the Israeli strike.
