In a desperate move, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is secretly planning to move the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy from Pakistan to India, a report revealed on Friday.
The Indian board has already refused to allow the Rohit Sharma’s men to play the tournament in Pakistan next year.
According to media reports, the Indian board has planned to present “itself” to host the International Cricket Council (ICC) if it does not reach any conclusion.
The BCCI will pay compensation to the ICC broadcasters for not having an India-Pakistan match, for which talks are underway with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
On the other hand, Pakistan have also intensified the process of consultation with the board members participating in the event so that the Indian lobby can be taught a lesson.
It is to be noted that the Indian team last toured Pakistan in 2008 for the Asia Cup 16 years ago, after which they refused to visit Pakistan due to security issues several times, however, Pakistan played several ICC event including a bilateral series as well as the 2023 World Cup in India.
