Australian batters struggle against Pakistan fast bowlers in third ODI

Australia beat Pakistan by 29 runs in the first T20 international match played here in Brisbane.

After a rain delay, the game was reduced to seven overs each side.

Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and invited Australia to bat first.

Openers Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matthew Short scored 16 runs off the first over bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Naseem Shah got first success by dismissing Fraser-McGurk on the first delivery of his spell.

But Maxwell, dominated the proceedings despite Short’s departure in the 3rd over.

He fell victim to Mohammad Abbas in the penultimate over, which also saw the ouster of Tim David (9) as Australia slipped to 73/4 in six overs.

Maxwell remained the top-scorer for Australia with a 19-ball 43.

Marcus Stoinis then smashed Naseem for 20 runs in the final over. Australia scored 93/4 in the allotted seven overs.

For Pakistan, Abbas Afridi bagged two wickets, while Shaheen and Naseem shared two between them
