Court rejects Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi’s acquittal plea in new Toshakhana case

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have been acquitted in the second Toshakhana case.

Special Judge Shahrukh Arjmand heard the discharge petitions of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana II case.

The court dismissed the pleas of the former Prime Minister and his wife.

Judge Shah Rukh Arjumand of a special court of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) set November 18 as the new date for indictment of the duo.

It may be recalled that the court had reserved the verdict on November 8 on the discharge petition of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana II case.

The case at hand pertains to an alleged illegal sale of a jewellery set gifted to Bushra Bibi by the Saudi crown prince when her husband Imran Khan was the prime minister of the country from 2018 to 2022.

The couple’s sentence in the first (old) Toshakhana case was suspended by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in April.
