The Punjab government has issued orders to close all the private and public schools in all districts of the province due to rising smog and air pollution.
Keeping in view the increasing smog and air pollution in the province, it has been decided to keep all schools closed till November 17.
Earlier, it was decided to keep educational institutions closed in 8 districts of Punjab including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Rawalpindi, DG Khan, Sargodha and Sahiwal. Orders have been issued to close the schools and a notification in this connection has also been issued.
The notification said all the private and government-run schools will remain closed till November 17, instructing the tuition centers to go online for the said period.
The decision has been taken due to rising diseases related to eyes, lungs and throat as a result of air pollution and poor air quality index in Punjab.
